Hyundai Wins Best Manufacturer at Recent Awards
Hyundai has recently been awarded ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ at recent awards ceremony, Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence (EVIEs) Awards.
Hyundai fought off stiff competition from Nissan and Group PSA to win the coveted award but with Hyundai’s plan to electrify almost three-quarters of the range by 2020, it’s most certainly a worthy win.
With over 18,000 electric vehicles sold to date, Hyundai are fast becoming a household name in the EV (Electric Vehicle) market.
If you are in the market for an electric vehicle, Hyundai’s range has something for everyone.
Hyundai Kona Electric
The Hyundai Kona is a spacious SUV that comes as either a fully electric or hybrid option to suit your own requirements.
The Hyundai Kona Electric has a range of up to 300 miles, depending on driving conditions, offering the best of both worlds. The battery can be charged to 80% capacity in as little as 75 minutes using a 50kW DC charging station.
If you would prefer to charge your vehicle using a home charging port, you can expect the process to take around nine and a half hours.
The electric version would suit those who are likely to be making journeys further than the local shops. If you will be making long journeys, perhaps cross country on a regular basis, you might want to consider a Hybrid vehicle.
The hybrid technology uses regenerative power when travelling short distances, but has a petrol reserve for loner journeys, removing the range anxiety associated with fully electric cars.
Electric vehicles can be charged using public charge ports, however it can often mean planning your journey or route accordingly. It also means the charging time needs to be factored into a journey over 300 miles.
What is the Hyundai Kona like to own?
With plenty of room for the whole family, the Hyundai Kona includes wireless charging, premium surround sound and climate settings for a comfortable and connected journey every time.
The exterior is bold and the design is eye catching, with sleek LED lights and muscular shaping. The wrap around rear lights offer increased visibility to other road users.
Packed with plenty of safety features as standard, the Hyundai Kona driver assist features include Smart Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keeping Assist. These features offer complete peace of mind when travelling long or tedious journeys, from motorway driving to commuting.
The interior of the Hyundai Kona is stylish and packed with technology features as standard, including an 8” touchscreen and the premium SE models feature a head-up display.
The Hyundai Ioniq is available in three Electric options, including Plug in Hybrid, Hybrid and Electric, so there is something to suit all requirements.
